3 Alternative Aids for Common Ailments

3 Alternative Aids for Common Ailments

Whether you are stressed out, injured, or suffer from an ongoing condition, you are probably taking some kind of prescribed or over-the-counter medication, and while they might work for others, some things don’t seem to work for you. Most medication does what it is supposed to do, but there are many out there with severe side effects that only serve to make you feel worse than you already do.

If this is the case, then it might be a good idea to try some alternative treatments that can ease your afflictions by relaxing the mind, calming the body, and soothing the soul. What is known as Western Medicine, that is, traditional pharmaceutical treatments for medical conditions, doesn’t always work, so millions of people all over the world often use alternatives such as:

  • Natural Remedies
  • OPEP Devices
  • Holistic Therapies

Although most medications are described as synthetic, they are derived from many natural plants and herbs in the first instance that has been used for thousands of years while OPEP devices provide an alternative to bronchodilation inhaler treatments by working the lungs rather than forcing them to open and ancient holistic therapies have been known to aid with some of the most common ailments that OTC treatments do not, such as migraine, chronic back pain, and mental stress.

Natural Remedies

The modern world is almost completely dependent on multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies who have become dominant in our lives in order to make us feel better. The disassociation with pain as an indicator of a serious and treatable issue, for example, has caused an opioid epidemic the likes of which the world has never seen before.

Using nature to make yourself feel better is nothing new, and while you might not realize it, you will probably use natural remedies every day. Tea, coffee, and even incense are made from natural ingredients that cause a chemical change in the body in order to make you feel different such as relaxed, energetic, or aware, and publishings such as the Lost Book Of Herbal Remedies are an excellent place to start in order to get back to nature as a restorative and healing alternative over dangerous drugs.

OPEP Devices

Bronchodilators have commonly been used to treat breathing issues caused by illnesses such as COPD and asthma for over 100 years but they often cause serious side effects such as trembling, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, coughing, and heart palpitations, which causes some people who need them to forego treatment and suffer unnecessarily.

A new and emerging treatment for respiratory conditions is by using Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure (OPEP) devices. Similar to inhalers you need to exhale into the device rather than inhaling a substance. This has the effect of working the lung to open airways and expel any mucus from them that might be clogged in the respiratory system.

Holistic Therapies

Alternative medicine such as ancient Chinese, Japanese, and Middle Eastern have been practiced for thousands of years for the treatment of almost every condition, from chronic pains, migraines, and impotence. Such holistic therapies can include consuming tonics and powders but also extend to pseudo-therapies such as reflexology, acupressure, and reiki.

While the modern scientific community shuns therapies such as these, millions of satisfied patients all over the world have found relief from serious injuries and physical and mental conditions from regular treatments, and whether these are genuine or not, you will have to experience them in order to judge for yourself.
