3 Ways To Instantly Alleviate Stress & Feel Better As A Result

3 Ways To Instantly Alleviate Stress & Feel Better As A Result

April 6, 2021 //  by Marian Mitchell//  Leave a Comment

Leading a healthier life needn’t be difficult. Sometimes it’s just a case of eating a healthier diet, getting more exercising, or making more of an effort to socialize. However, one of the best ways to improve your overall health and reduce your risk of high blood pressure and heart attacks is to alleviate the stresses in your life. Here’s how to do just that, and why you’ll feel better as a result.

Get Outdoors

If you’ve had a particularly tough day in the office or while working from home, then it can be tricky to find solace even in your own home. Get outdoors and be at one with nature. Being in nature reduces our senses of anger and fear while increasing pleasant sensations simply from just being outdoors. Not only will this help you to feel better emotionally, but it can also reduce the production of stress hormones, lower your blood pressure, and relax your muscles a bit more. So, next time you’ve had a bit of a difficult day, pull on your walking boots and get down to your neighborhood park, climb a nearby hill, or explore a local woodland or lake and truly reap the rewards of being outdoors.

Be Less Harsh On Yourself

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been advised to be kinder to one another so that we can all pull through this treacherous time and come out the other side of it with our health and wealth intact. However, are you being kind enough to yourself? Sometimes we can be very harsh on ourselves for little reason whatsoever and this can be extremely damaging to our stress levels. Forgive yourself if you miss a deadline, don’t beat yourself up if you’ve gained a few pounds, and be sure to reward yourself if you’ve achieved something, no matter how small, on any given day. Whether it’s picking up a bottle of wine on your way home to reward yourself after a grueling day or having a smoke of some delta8 cannabis to give you a relaxing sensation like no other, it’s important to reward yourself for having done well. Sometimes we forget to do this and it can really stress a lot of people out if we’re too harsh on ourselves. So, be kinder to you.

Try Exercising

If all else fails and you’re still feeling down or stressed out, then get read of some of that pent-up aggression through exercise. Lots of people love hitting the gym to get the tension out of their system and this can be a great way to alleviate stress and help you to instantly feel better. Others might prefer to go on long runs to escape into nature and be away with their own thoughts for a little while. Equally, practicing yoga regularly has been proven to reduce stress in participants and is bound to help you to sleep better at night. Whatever you choose, just make sure it’s enjoyable for you, as there is nothing more stressful than forcing yourself to do something you won’t like.
