Looking after your mental health is about more than sliding into a bath or screaming into a pillow, although both are valid. Mantle health is about looking after your mental and emotional wellbeing. Over the years, there have been many different methods developed to help people navigate the world of mental health and do the best for themselves. Here are some of the ways that you can look after yourself.

Holistic methods

If you feel that you are having some issues but don’t want to go down the usual route of seeing doctors, there are some wonderful holistic therapies out there. Although many of these therapies have not been backed by science, the results that people report are enough that they should be considered. Meditation is a favourite at the moment but, unlike some of the other therapies that fit under the holistic umbrella, meditation has been proven to help with people’s mental health. It is as easy as downloading an app and learning how to do it from there. There is a huge range of holistic treatments that you could use in order to help your mental health but half of the fun will be discovering which ones work best for you.

Neurofeedback

The brain really is a big blob of tissue and electricity that likes to mess with us sometimes. But what if you could have a look at what is going on inside? Therapies such as eeg neurofeedback is a new and exciting way to help people manage their mental health. This might sound like a fancy new technique but it has been carried out for over 40 years. As we learn more about our brains, we have more options available. You even get to sit and watch a movie while you are in for treatment. The process is complex and can give quick results. Plus, there is the added bonus of how many different issues it can treat. These include, but are not limited to, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, andbipolar disorder. If you have a disorder that you think might benefit from some feedback, reach out to your doctor who can help you get sorted with some treatment.

Spiritual methods

There are a lot of people who have found that their faith in their religion has helped them through some hard times. With this in mind, a lot of people recommend that you find something bigger than yourself. Even if you are not distressed, having faith can help you with plenty of day-to-day issues. The religion that you choose is up to you. However, there are links between the religion of Buddhism and meditation so you might discover that these two fit together nicely. If you have a religion and feel your mental health slipping, you can always talk to the church elder or leader and see if they can give you some guidance.

And there you have it, three methods that will help to keep your mental health in check. We can’t wait to hear which methods have worked the best for you.
