First Steps to Beginning Your Essential Oils Journey

Chemicals in prescription medication can cause more issues than help.  Dependency is also a distinct possibility even long after the issue could have been resolved. However, there is a natural answer to what ails you.  Chronic pain has been a way of life for me for years.  I wanted to find a natural way to relieve my pain and allow me to live a life without strange and sometimes worst side effects.  I now have a strict regimen of life which includes weekly chiropractic visits, working out in a consistent manner with a trainer and my oils.  Essential oils are a natural and amazing answer for me.  I found the answer for me and would love the opportunity to share what I have learned.

What are essential oils?

They are concentrated plant extract that retains the natural smell and flavor of their source.  Let me give you some examples of what an oil can do.  For example, peppermint oil uses are relieving sore muscles, helps upset stomach, can relieve pain from migraines and headaches, freshens breath and reduce cavities, raises energy, reduces stress, helps for skin health and acne, treats cold and congestion, promotes hair growth and protects against dandruff, and reduces fever.  There are many more too!

Pain Management

I hate it when people just stop and let pain stop them!  For me, movement is the key.  Strength building is important.  There are oils that can relax your muscles and can, therefore, help reduce pain.  I also have used a blend of 5 pain reducing oils with fractionated coconut oil to relieve the pain while the issue is getting resolved.  You don’t have to be in pain while the oils work.  Sometimes pain is simply your muscles tightened and strained.  Let’s get to the source of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms which is the pain.  If we fix the cause, NO more pain!  But it doesn’t stop there, essential oils are known to help with many other issues you may face.  I have had reports of essential oils helping with dental issues, high blood pressure and sore throats just to name a few.  Oils can be used in a variety of ways: you can diffuse them, apply them to the skin using a carrier oil, some can be even taken internally.  Oils can be used to clean your home.  What ails you?

Stress Reduction

Another use of essential oils is to reduce stress.  Stress can cause many issues in your life and can lead to addictive behaviors to try to get relief.  Stress can also cause insomnia or the want to sleep all the time. It can lead to depression. If we can relieve the stress naturally then we can avoid other problems later in life such as recovering from an addictive lifestyle.  Oils can reduce your stress, it can help your emotional state and give you a clearer mind in order to obtain better coping skills.


Self-care involves many aspects and everyone’s care is different.  What may work for me, may not work for you or may work 10 times better.  The most important thing is to explore the options, investigate the details.  Oils have been known to help improve life.  Oils are a healthier way to live, to clean, to be.  What oil can I get you today?  Remember oils can be diluted, rubbed on the skin, inhaled, some can even be taken internally.

My Personal Favorite Essential Oil

Melaleuca oil also known as tea tree oil have many uses as well.  It is used to keep your kid’s heads lice free, deters bed bugs, helps promotes healing of cuts, burns and skin infections, as well as used as an anti-inflammatory alternative. The oil has been used for the treatment of acne.  It can be used as a household cleaner to clean your kitchen and bathroom.  It can be put in a diffuser to be used as an insect repellant and purify your air.
