Loaded Burger Bowl

When you have to or choose to go low carb one of the things many people miss is a really good burger. Bunless burgers just aren’t the same. One of the things I like to do is makeover my favorite meals into healthier but also hearty meals. I don’t like being hungry and eating healthy shouldn’t leave you feeling like you’re always starving.

Sometimes when you’re revamping the way that you eat it’s actually easier to change up what you love versus trying to replace it with a “lesser” equivalent, like a gluten-free bun or lettuce wrap. I don’t mean that they are lesser, but I know many people feel that way. “It’s just not the same.” It’s okay if you prefer to try a replacement but you should still give this salad a try because it’s delicious all on its own.

Loaded Burger Bowl

For this amazing bowl, you will need baked french fries (white or sweet), romaine lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, sliced dill pickles, ground beef, honey mustard, and ranch dressing. For a truly loaded burger bowl, you can also add in avocado, crumbled bacon, and sauteed mushrooms. Doesn’t this sound amazing? I’m drooling just writing this.

How to make this delicious bowl is to first add a few fries to the bottom of the bowl (if you’re using regular fries and not steak fries or tater tots I usually add a small handful. Then add in 2-3 handfuls of chopped romaine lettuce. Then add chopped tomatoes, dill pickle slices, red onion slices, and a chopped up cooked burger patty. Then drizzle on honey mustard and then ranch. I use a paleo ranch dressing that is dairy free. To make it loaded, add other toppings like avocado, cooked bacon, and/or sauteed mushrooms.

What I love about this is, let’s say you’re the only one in your family that is choosing to eat healthy and remove foods that are hindering you from reaching your health goals, you’re all still eating the “same” meal even if it looks different on your plate. Others might have their burger on a bun while dipping their fries in ketchup. It’s okay for everyone’s plate to look different, you didn’t have to cook different meals! Plus, I hate feeling like I’m missing out. With this bowl, it’s everyone else who isn’t eating it that is missing out. I LOVE this recipe.
