Smoked Salmon Dill Pear Bites

I absolutely love entertaining. As always, I keep things super simple while still staying fun and delicious. These Smoked Salmon Dill Pear Bites fit the bill perfectly. I developed these on a random morning when I forgot my lunch at home and had to stop at the store. I was planning on making my Salmon Salad that week so decided I might as well pick up some dill, smoked salmon, and decided to try to mix it all together with pear. It was fabulous.

With just three ingredients, it’s super easy to make for your next party. Dill pairs wonderfully with seafood, in salad dressings, and of course, with pickles. It is also popular in Mediterranean dishes like tzatziki sauce, a great addition to potato salad and egg salad. I am in the early stages of learning how to use this wonderful herb more often, and I can’t wait to share more recipes with you.

For this recipe, you will only use as much of each ingredient as you need for the party. Basically I’m saying, use your best judgement. For a small dinner party of 6-8 people, 3 pears, 1/2 package of smoked salmon, and a package of fresh dill from the store will be plenty. You’ll have dill left over, so I definitely recommend trying some other recipes while you have it in your fridge. Also, make sure you have plenty of toothpicks. 🙂

Special note: Always read the ingredients on your smoked salmon. I haven’t found a brand that uses gluten yet, but there is always a first.
