Sometimes, despite all you’ve done to live a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle it’s the outside factors that cause problems and at times damage to your health. If you work in an office or have worked in a dangerous industry in the past, it may be that certain environmental factors have and continue to affect your health.

In this short blog we take a look at some of the symptoms a harmful working environment may bring out in you and how you can help your body to fight off some of these side effects and stay healthy at work.

"Staying

Noise

Not just the general chatter of an office setting but noise on an industrial level can play its part on affecting your health.

If you do work in a loud office you may find that the constant ebb and flow of noise is distracting and leaves you unable to concentrate. You may find too that despite its low-level nature you’re left with a headache and tension that comes from having to force yourself to stay focused for hours at a time.

For this lower end of the scale, noise pollution takes some solitude in your noise-canceling earphones that will also provide you with a quiet soundtrack. Tune into a calming, melodic, non-verbal music at a low level that isn’t distracting but rather helps you tune out the excess noise and concentrate on what you’re doing.

Some workers may have been exposed to high-level noise and now find themselves with some damage or ongoing issues with their hearing. Though you may not want to, go and see your hearing specialist as soon as you can. There are so many options, discreet options, to help hearing loss that there’s sure to be a solution for your particular problem.

Aches and Pains

If you’re someone who spends much of their time behind a desk then you may find yourself with aching shoulders, neck, and backache at the end of the day not to mention cramped legs. To avoid any further complications such as a Deep Vein Thrombosis, you’ll need to look at two things. Move more to get the blood flowing again and have your desk and chair measured to make sure you’re sitting correctly and have the right posture.

When you work every day the last thing you want to think about is how your workplace is affecting your health but of course, it does. From the serious asbestos-related issues that come from mesothelioma to everyday aches and pains, your workplace is responsible for your comfort, health, and wellbeing.

If you find yourself worried about any symptoms you’re experiencing, talk to the professionals some of whom have been handling mesothelioma cases for years or to your doctor if you’re constantly battling headaches and find yourself unable to concentrate.

You take your work seriously, make sure your boss takes your work environment seriously too and stay happy and healthy in the place you spend so much of your time.
