If you are one of those people who follow a diet, but always find that you are hungry, then you probably aren’t getting enough vitamins and minerals. This can lead to you experiencing depression, and this is the last thing that you need. If you want to find out if your diet is harming your health or not, then the only thing that you have to do is take a look below.

You’re Depressed

Omega-3 is a fatty acid that helps your brain to work properly. It also helps you to concentrate and it can work wonders if you’re having a hard time remembering things. If your body has a deficiency, then it will absorb more trans-fat. This can cause depression, and it can make your mood even worse. If you feel as though your depression is in fact, causing memory problems, then take the time to boost your omega-3 intake. This acid can be found in nuts, fish, oils and even wheat grains too. If you’re struggling with your diet, then it could be wise for you to consult a digestive doctor.

Leg Cramps

If you have leg cramps all the time, then it may be that you need more magnesium in your diet. Getting more magnesium may also help you if you suffer from depression, as it boosts serotonin. If you find that you are lacking magnesium, then it may be that you need to take a magnesium-rich medication. On top of this, it may also benefit you to try and eat foods that are enriched with beneficial nutrients. This can include peas, pine nuts or even pumpkin seeds. If you have leg cramps, then it may be that you have an iron deficiency as well, so it’s a good idea for you to try and keep this in mind if you want to boost your health.

Loss of Appetite

Loss of appetite can make someone who would like to lose weight, very happy. That being said, it can also lead to you experiencing shortness of breath and even fatigue. This isn’t good for you at all, not to mention that these symptoms can also indicate that your body is experiencing an iron deficiency. Anaemia is very closely linked with depression too. If you want to help yourself here, then it’s wise to try and consume foods that are rich in iron. This can include spinach or kale.

Bowel Disorders

If you have a very unhealthy diet, then your gut will let you know about it. It’s so important that you remember that your intestine is an organ that produces a lot of hormones. Serotonin for example is the hormone which makes you feel happy. It’s produced in the small intestine. If you know that you feel depressed and if you know that you have gut problems, then it’s a good idea for you to try and control the amount of zinc that you consume. You will soon find that you can find zinc in cheese, meat, or even seafood.

With that being said, you may need to approach a top gastroenterologist if you have issues with your digestive system. It’s important to have a good balance of good and bad foods because your body requires fuel that will keep it energized but also will keep you healthy. Even though bad foods taste good, they’re not something you should be having all the time. Moderation is definitely more important than anything else!
