Figuring out how to be healthy is confusing enough, and when your doctor drops a bombshell on you telling you it's time to make some pretty big changes, it's overwhelming. None of us are really prepared to hear we have multiple food sensitivities/allergies, autoimmune disease, or our blood sugar or cholesterol is getting high.
You may be relieved to have answers because you want to feel great again, yet at the same time are a little (or a lot) lost. Sometimes doctors provide extensive treatment plans, while others will say "get your cholesterol down or you're going on medication." Whatever it is, it's hard to even know where to begin. You do great for 2-3 weeks, then life gets crazy and you're right back into your old habits (and normal routine.) How do you make such big changes and stick with it?!

Hi! I'm Marian. My health journey first began with a desire to get off the diet rollercoaster and just get healthy. I explored every dietary lifestyle out there including Clean Eating, Vegetarian, Vegan, Raw Vegan, Paleo, and Traditional Weston A. Price. Then my dad was diagnosed with relapsing polychondritis, I discovered I have multiple food sensitivities, and my daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease.
While it was nice to finally have answers to all of our ailments, big changes had to happen immediately. Our doctors gave us treatment plans that were pretty broad and no specific strategies to make these changes. We were on our own.
I am not one to sit back and passively let life happen to me. None of us wanted to be on medications for the rest of our lives. So I decided to go to school to become a health coach and attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. From there I was connected to amazing practitioners and researchers and tried every piece of advice I could get my hands on. I quickly learned that food and lifestyle are the foundation of being symptom-free with autoimmune disease. There was a steep learning curve to figuring out how to eat and live with an autoimmune lifestyle. It took years to really find a way to make living this way realistic and affordable.
I am thrilled to share what I've learned with you through Road to Living Whole. My team and I partner with you and your practitioner to help you implement the treatment plan into your life with much more ease than I did. No matter what your doctor's treatment plan is, we can help you implement it quickly, affordably, and without deprivation, so you can get back to living your busy life and finally feeling amazing again.

There is no one-size-fits-all way of learning and making changes in your life. Here on the website, we have over 130 recipes and our blog covers a variety of health-focused topics ranging from autoimmune disease and allergy-free living to yoga and stress management. I also have a cookbook, The Dish: A Real-Life Guide for Eating with Autoimmune Disease and YouTube Channel, Thrive Gluten Free.
As a health coaching practice, we offer a variety of coaching and learning platforms. We have our:

Stacey DaSilva is a health consultant, supplement expert, and going to school to become a Physicians Assistant. For over 8 years she has been helping people navigate the world of supplements and healthy living. When she's not helping with the development of our online programs, she is speaking at conventions around the country and recording healthy living videos with recipes and lifestyle tips. Outside of her role with us, she loves being a mom and wife, traveling the world, and studying to make her place in the functional medicine community.
How We Develop Our Recipes
Food is incredibly important over here. You will find our recipes tend to use few ingredients and rarely anything weird or something you'll only use once. Marian used to be a truly horrible cook, but over the years she has gone from following recipes to a T to developing her own. She found herself frustrated with recipes requiring 20 ingredients or more, and only used once then went bad before she could use them again. One time she bought ingredients for insanely delicious whoopie cookies but the recipe cost $40!! She also got tired of recipes that were bland. We all love food because it's taste good! Healthy food isn't supposed to be boring or complex!
You will find that the recipes we share are simple, use affordable and available ingredients. We only use ingredients you will find used over and over again. As a visual learner, Marian makes videos for other visual learners to show you how to make and use the less mainstream ingredients, (like spaghetti squash and coconut flour) making getting into the kitchen fun again.
