Easy Dinner Recipes for the Family: 5 Fast, Delicious Options

Dinnertime can be a challenge for busy families. So naturally, you want to prepare a healthy and delicious meal, but you don’t have a lot of time to spare. This blog post will share five fast, easy dinner recipes that the whole family will love! These recipes are all simple to prepare and use ingredients readily available at most grocery stores. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Chicken Florentine

This chicken dish is a classic Italian favorite. It is simple to prepare and uses ingredients that are easy to find. A chicken florentine includes chicken breasts coated in a creamy sauce and then topped with sautéed spinach and melted cheese. It is a filling meal that your whole family will love! Chicken Pot Pie

This is one of our favorite recipes because it uses chicken and vegetables instead of beef. The whole family will love the creamy sauce that makes up this dish—and you’ll love how simple it is to prepare! This recipe takes about 45 minutes from start to finish. You’ll need a cup of chicken broth and one can each:

  1. Gluten-Free cream of chicken soup, corn (drained), peas (drained), carrots (diced), and potatoes (diced).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the onion in butter until tender; add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add gluten-free baking flour to make a roux, then whisk in milk; cook until thickened.
  4. Stir chicken into sauce mixture and mix well.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste!

Cheesy Chicken Casserole

This casserole is a delicious meal that everyone in the family will love. It’s not only easy to make but tastes great as well! The casserole recipe takes about 30 minutes from start to finish and serves six people. You’ll need three cups of cooked and cubed chicken, broccoli florets (cooked), milk or gluten-free cream of mushroom soup mixed with water, shredded cheese (your choice), garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Combine all ingredients except cheese; pour into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until bubbly.

Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken

This easy slow cooker, honey sesame chicken recipe is made with a few simple ingredients. It’s packed full of flavor and sure to be a family favorite! Just be sure to swap the soy sauce with tamari sauce to be gluten-free. This dish takes about 30 minutes from start to finish, including prep time. For the sauce, you’ll need honey (½ cup), soy sauce (¼ cup), sesame oil (tablespoon), garlic cloves minced finely or crushed (two), rice vinegar (tablespoon), and red pepper flakes (optional). Place chicken thighs in the bottom of a slow cooker. In a bowl or measuring cup, whisk together all the ingredients for the sauce; pour over chicken—cover and cook on low heat for six hours or high heat for three hours. Once cooked, remove chicken from the cooker and shred with two forks. Serve over cooked rice, quinoa, or noodles.

One-Pot Teriyaki Shrimp and Rice

This one-pot teriyaki shrimp and rice dish is another easy option for a family dinner. It’s simple to make, flavorful, and healthy! It’s also super easy to make gluten-free! Just substitute soy sauce with tamari sauce. This recipe takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. You’ll also need one cup of uncooked brown rice, two tablespoons of olive oil (divided), salt and pepper to taste for seasoning the shrimp or chicken breasts, garlic cloves minced finely or crushed (two) as well as ginger root grated finely.

As you can see, there are plenty of easy dinner recipes that the whole family will love. Whether you’re looking for something fast and simple or something a little more elaborate, these five recipes are sure to please. So get cooking and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal tonight!
