Leaky Gut: What Is It And Should You Be Concerned

“All disease begins in the gut.” ~Hippocrates, Father of Modern Medicine

Our gut (intestines) is naturally permeable to very small molecules in order to absorb vital nutrients. Increased Intestinal Permeability, aka Leaky Gut, is when the tight junctions in our intestinal lining break apart allowing things like undigested food particles, toxins, and more to get into our blood stream and wreak havoc.

Symptoms of Leaky Gut include:

  • Digestive issues like bloating, gas, and IBS
  • Seasonal Allergies and Asthma
  • Autoimmune Disease
  • Hormone Imbalance
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Skin issues like rosacea, acne, eczema, or chicken skin on arms
  • Food allergies and/or sensitivities
  • and more.

In this webinar Dr. Kelly Clough (ND) and I dive into what the suspected causes of leaky gut are, how it impacts your health, what foods make it worse, and which foods help it heal. For those who attend live, you will receive bonus handouts and recipes to help jump start your gut-healing journey.

With histamine intolerance, all of the foods that soothes are high histamine. Any suggestions please?

That’s a great question! I have several resources for you to help with histamine intolerance and helping the body heal. Before I share them with you I want to give you hope. Removing food sensitivities/allergenic foods, eating whole, fresh food, and mitigating stress will go a very long way. But a low histamine diet for 3-6 months paired with the enzyme DAO will help the body be able to manage histamine on its own again. Here are some resources that I hope you find helpful and you are always welcome to schedule a 30 minute discovery call for us to talk more about this. https://www.roadtolivingwhole.com/3-ways-reduce-histamine/ https://www.roadtolivingwhole.com/how-to-eat-histamine-intolerance/ and this webinar https://www.roadtolivingwhole.com/histamine-intolerance-mold-toxicity-lyme-disease-recovery-webinar/

      I hope this helps!
